"I am a physician who matched to Radiology and I tutored students in several subjects in my free time. My educational background begins with my bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station from 2015 to 2019. I then pursued my master’s degree in that field at the same university from 2019 to 2020. I was then accepted to the dual degree MD/MBA program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center from 2020 to 2024.
Over the years, I have had positions as a teaching assistant in my university in the subjects of Spanish, anatomy and chess. Spanish is my primary language, and I scored a 5/5 on my AP exam. I tutored Spanish during high school and college, which I found very rewarding to help others learn the language. It was always one-on-one explaining the student the language rules and practicing pronunciation, reading, and writing. I taught students how to structure sentences, conjugate verbs, and accentuation. Overall, I have taught Spanish for about four years.
I taught anatomy during my second year of medical school, and I always found it a fun and very practical and useful subject to learn. It was in a classroom setting. I prepared a powerpoint with the most high-yield topics most likely to be tested on the exams, and I solved anatomy questions with the students.
I also would like to teach Study Skills to students because it’s a foundation that they can use to learn other subjects on their own. Most of medical school is self-teaching, and I developed good study habits, including pomodoro technique, that have helped me be more productive. I also want to teach chess because it’s my favorite hobby. I played chess competitively before medical school, scoring a peak ELO of 2050 in 2019. During my undergrad years, I was an officer of the chess club and I taught elementary and middle school children how to play chess. I play a lot of chess online and teaching chess whether online or in-person will never feel like job to me." less...
