"Hello there - My name is Krina and I am currently in the last year of my Doctoral training in Clinical Psychology (PsyD), with an emphasis on health, rehabilitation, and neuropsychology. I have a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in psychology.
Over the years, I have had many opportunities to teach students through teaching assistant (TA) positions. I enjoy teaching others because it provides me with an opportunity to be creative with my approach to teaching. Specifically, teaching other reveals weaknesses in my own skills, which I am able to strengthen through practice. I also enjoy teaching because it gives me an opportunity to build a relationship with a person and to acknowledge that I am able to help with their coursework. My belief is that everyone should have an equal opportunity for learning and enhancing their education, thus, I look forward to being apart of that process.
There are a number of qualities that I possess which make me an effective tutor/teacher. First, I actively listen to the individuals that I am working with. This allows me to understand an individuals difficulty and to provide support accordingly. Additionally, I am invested in the individuals that I work with. I take the time to prepare for sessions as well as utilize the time to address any questions or concerns one might have. My prior teaching assistant positions in graduate school and other experiences have provided insight into the challenges of teaching. Finally, I am open to feedback, as I believe it helps me become a better teacher and human being overall.
Please do not hesitate to reach out or contact me for any information. I look forward to working with you in the future!" less...
