"I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania summa cum laude with a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology and hold an MA from Columbia University in Microbiology & Immunology. Furthermore, I am currently a PhD candidate at Columbia with a focus on allergy research.

My tutoring experience of over 10 years encompasses students from a variety of backgrounds, ranging from elementary school students to fellow PhD candidates. Previously, I have been a children’s science museum teacher, a teaching assistant for advanced undergraduate immunology, and an English-as-a-second-language tutor. I also mentor more junior graduate students and undergraduate students in the lab in hands-on bench techniques. At the present, I am a teaching assistant for graduate-level immunology.

With tutoring experience both in the classroom and the lab, I understand that every student has a different learning style, and I aim to tailor my teaching approach to best fit the needs of a student. My philosophy is that I want to help my students strengthen their foundation of core scientific concepts, rather than memorize content. That way, your understanding of science can go beyond our tutoring session or the next test, and instead bolster your future scientific learning. I encourage my students to think critically and to also have fun with science! As an ever-expanding field, there is much to discover about biology, and I welcome open curiosity about the world of science.

I focus in tutoring biology (specifically immunology and cell biology) and writing. For writing tutoring services, I have experience editing personal statements for graduate school and STEM programs." less...
