"If math isn't your superpower, no problem! I can make it less scary for you. I have taught or tutored everything from basic arithmetic to upper-division engineering math, as well as statistics. I have helped hundreds of people by listening to them, understanding their approach to math, and then showing them where to make adjustments. I do best with college-age and adult learners, but I also tutor high school students. I am currently available for tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays, late afternoons and evenings! I can work online, or in-person in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
My specialties are elementary statistics, calculus, and applied math for engineering including differential equations, stochastic processes, and linear algebra. I have a Bachelor's in Math, Master's in applied math, and Ph.D. in engineering math via Electrical Engineering (at the University of California at Santa Barbara). I logged over 2500 hours' time in one-on-one tutoring through Pearson Tutor Services, and worked four years as an adjunct professor at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
Before working with Pearson, I was an aerospace engineer, designing navigational software for the Air Force's C-17 transport plane as well as GPS-aided space navigation. I have over ten years' experience in the classroom at both the university level (Washington U in St. Louis, UC Santa Barbara, Wentworth) and the community college level (Santa Barbara City College, North Shore Community College in Lynn, MA). I had several clients for one-on-one tutoring in the home, at libraries, or at schools in Santa Barbara, CA, where I helped with GED math, college prep math, and college statistics.
I'd love to hear from you ... early on in your math or stats course, rather than later!" less...
