"In an extraordinarily competitive environment for college and graduate school admissions, it is crucial to differentiate one's applications with compelling personal statements and supplemental essays, and authenticity is paramount. The application process often induces anxiety, and I strive to alleviate that stress! As an experienced writing tutor, I help students to discover and enhance their unique voice and communicate their ideas in a coherent and articulate manner. Essential to this endeavor is the robust use of correct grammar and elegant syntax. My students have gained admission to many top-tier schools (undergraduate and law, business, medicine, computer science, social work, and music graduate programs) including Yale, Columbia, Duke, U-Penn, MIT, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, UNC-Chapel Hill, William & Mary, U-Michigan, Middlebury, Colorado College, U-Virginia, USC, and UC-Berkeley.
I graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in English, and studied English literature in the UK at Oxford University and the University of Warwick. In my professional career, I have done extensive writing, proofreading and editing. My first job after college was an entry-level position at a television station (the NBC affiliate in W. Palm Beach, FL.) where I wrote and produced public service announcements, consumer reports, and weekend news stories. Ultimately, I created, wrote and produced a daily news program, which aired immediately before the Today show on NBC. I have worked in financial services (in NY and London), which entailed writing correspondence and research reports. As an executive assistant to several CEOs, my duties included writing, proofreading and editing personal and professional correspondence, documents and creative writing projects, some of which were published.
When not tutoring, I enjoy golf, yoga, swimming, and rowing." less...
