"My name is Elizabeth, and I'm a second-year law student at Duke University. I graduated from the University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy in 2020, where I received my B.A. in Public Policy with a concentration in Financial Regulation. I also completed a minor in Business Administration through the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, and worked for the Department of Justice for three years in DC before going back to school.
I have tutored students from kindergarten through twelfth grade since I was in high school, and am currently a tutor for law school application essays and general law school admissions consulting, as well as college application essays. I can also assist with LSAT prep — I raised my LSAT score from 165 to 174 over four months and have tried out numerous LSAT prep strategies and resources over the ~10 months I spent studying for the exam while working full-time. For context, I applied to 18 law schools in Fall 2022 and was admitted to thirteen of them, including Duke, Cornell, Michigan, Georgetown, and University of Texas-Austin. I did not receive any rejections during my admissions cycle (I was waitlisted at the remaining five schools). I believe my essays played an impactful role in my admissions outcomes, as my GPA (3.74) was significantly below median for almost all of the schools I applied to. I also did not have any “hooks” (e.g., being a veteran, having extraordinary life circumstances, etc.) to boost my chances of admission.
I would be happy to provide my LSAT score report and more specific information/documentation of my admissions outcomes upon request. I am also available to tutor younger students (kindergarten through middle school) in English/reading and math, and can help with college admissions essays as well. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
