"Hi, I’m Ace – a Duke University student, Merit Scholarship recipient, and 4x Dean’s List honoree. I’m pursuing a dual Bachelor of Law and Arts in Ethics and Leadership in Public Policy at Duke Kunshan University and Duke University, graduating in May 2025.
I know the academic grind – I’ve been there. From tricky math to navigating college admissions, I’ve faced the same challenges many students encounter. Over time, I developed methods that transformed those struggles into rewarding experiences, and I now enjoy sharing those insights with others.
I specialize in English, writing (including essays), math (arithmetic to Calculus AB), and SAT prep – scoring 790 in SAT Math. I’ve tutored for over 10 years, starting by helping classmates and younger students with homework and later assisting teachers. As I advanced in school, I mentored others through their college applications, turning what felt daunting into a period of growth and self-discovery.
I’ve tutored over 15 personal friends in NJ, with many gaining admission to top 15 schools like NYU, Northwestern, Boston University, Michigan, and Columbia. I’ve also taught 30+ Korean students English through Ringle. I have experience with elementary to high school students, college applicants, and professionals in one-on-one and online settings. Currently, all sessions are online as I’m based in Shanghai.
Outside tutoring, I’m involved in AI ethics and policy research, leading a project that secured $1,600 in funding. I’ve authored reports and published a journal article on AI ethics. I’ve also worked as a paralegal intern, co-own a restaurant with 150K online reach, and co-founded a jazz club at school.
For me, tutoring is about confidence and curiosity. When you focus on learning, you stand out as the student who truly understands – and that’s what makes the difference." less...
