"Hello! My name is Karen, and I recently graduated from Hamilton College. I graduated with departmental honors in history. I believe that history and writing are intimately linked! You cannot learn one without the other. I worked as a TA for a literature class and found this to be very, very true. As a new graduate, I am up to date with the latest techniques that high-caliber schools are looking for--not just in history but in literary writing and creative writing.

Whether you are starting in elementary school or late high school, there is always time to nourish and perfect your knowledge of history and your writing technique. Although I specialize in historical writing, I also work with literature students and creative writing students (I'm about to be a published author!)

In addition, I am about to publish my debut function novel. With this kind of experience, I know I can prepare a student for whatever type of writing they want to learn.

More importantly, I am a lover of the written language. I understand how the power of scriptural expression can help a student blossom into an artist and a gifted academic. Writing is about more than a grade. Writing is about learning to express yourself and share your internal world with others. Words have great power, and learning to wield them successfully can change how one looks at oneself and the outside world. That is what I want to impart to my students.
