I was a geologist for 15 years before teaching. I performed soil/water investigations, evaluated data and helped design cleanups. I have hiked and rock climbed in Yosemite, Tetons, Rockies, Yellowstone, Sequoia, Zion, Bryce.

Besides bringing this outside experience, songs and mnemonic devices help students understand topics more thoroughly. I teach students with special needs and have helped them improve their scores. I have also tutored students for science Olympiad competitions including the prestigious USESO.
