"I currently teach AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, Economics, and AP Statistics at Loyola High School of Los Angeles. I have always loved learning, and in my career have I found a passion for the communicating of that learning. I enjoy the classroom setting as well as small group or one to one sessions. In a tutoring environment, it is possible to explore not only the subject and content at hand, but also relevant and helpful background insights that are impossible in a classroom. Moreover, students get to really voice their current thinking patterns with a teacher at hand who is ready to guide, encourage, and correct when necessary.
My Master's degree is in economics and that training included statistics and lots of higher level math. I received national teacher of the year from the Council on Economic Education in 2015. Moreover, I am comfortable in testing settings, as I scored an 800 on the math portion of the GRE exam, and in the top 2% nationally for the SAT.
I explore the current thinking in a wide range of economic topics. Moreover, I have taught Advanced Placement Microeconomics and Macroeconomics for over 20 years. I have graded the AP exam for all of those years as well, I sat on and co-chaired the Test Development Committee for writing the AP Macroeconomics exam from 2014 to 2020, which is administered to approximately 140,000 high school students annually. I have also tutored students in their college economics courses.
I have taught AP Statistics since 2015. My economics training in grad school included a lot of stats and econometrics, which prepared me well for teaching this course. I have tutored both students in the AP Course as well as adults taking an intro to stats course at the college level.
