"My educational background in economics and statistics has prepared me for take difficult examinations in the actuarial sciences like P (Probability) and FAM (Fundamentals of Actuarial Mathematics) . Since I started my college career, I always knew I was a numbers guy, additionally, with the understanding of patience and advising. Throughout my time at the university of Florida and at the community college of Gainesville, I have tutored and helped countless students, which have enabled me to go above and beyond and tutor those outside of the city and outside of the state. I became a part-time business administration tutor at Santa Fe College, where I first began my path as a tutor, and I have continued to do so through other platforms like Varsity tutors, Superprof, and even on my own time without charge, only because I get so much content and jot when I see someone understanding the material they want to know.
My methodologies do not far from the norm of many tutors now awaydays, but in my personal opinion, I love to incorporate real world data, and implement them into my tutoring sessions. My reasoning for this strategy comes from a piece of advice I was given to my counselor before I started college, applications matter. Learning and applying the knowledge of a subject are two very different things. The ability to approach a scenario with real world data or information like statistical data from Kaggle, the FRED, has proven to me time and time that applications of data and information can strengthen the minds and understanding of students. This methodology can be applied to any range from elementary students, to adults going back to college after their regular work day. This is what it means for me to be a tutor, to watch and see how other grow and use what they have learned to problem solve and think critically." less...
