"I have a background in education spanning over 20 years, and I’ve received awards for my performance. I studied Early Childhood Education, Educational Studies, and Exceptional Student Education. I’ve taught students in grades PK-3 and ESE students in grades K-12. Additionally, I’ve taught English to individuals age 4-adult. Moreover, I’m an Education Advocate.
I maintain educator certifications for Elementary Education (K-6), ESE (K-12), and Pre-K/Primary Education (Age 3 -Grade 3). I believe true learning and adequate development can only commence when all social, emotional, and other developmental needs are sufficiently satisfied. Thus, I work to make children feel secure and increase their confidence upon meeting. I create meaningful instructional experiences that are memorable and meet student interests to facilitate engagement and cultivate long-term retention. I maintain the ability to connect with students that have been unsuccessful in alternate settings and work to bolster progress. I’m knowledgeable in the areas of child development and academia, but I’m also extraordinarily nurturing, creative, and fun!
My work in administrative capacities in ESE schools and as an Education Advocate has helped me support families and educators navigating through the fascinating world of ESE. Educational advocacy and IEP writing can be complex, but I work to simplify the process and teach strategies to help caregivers review documents, compile letters and state complaints, and learn to collaborate with school districts to effectively meet student needs.
When I teach ESOL, we work on speech, reading, writing, the use of idioms, and more! At this juncture, I work primarily with adults and students at more advanced proficiency levels looking to polish their skills; however, I do make exceptions. I invite you to reach out to me with any inquiries or to schedule a lesson!" less...
