"Hi this is Lisa! I received a BA in psychology from the University at Albany and a Masters degree in Childhood Education 1-6 from Fordham University in NYC. I am a certified teacher and had 2 leave replacements as a teacher when I first started off in 2 different NYC Public schools teaching 2nd and 3rd grade. I then moved on as a full time teacher at another NYC public school as a 2nd grade teacher for 3 years. I tutored some students in math, reading, and SS during this time.
After that I was a permanent substitute teacher in a NYC private nursery school and then moved to westchester where I was a stay at home mom for a few years. Since my children are older now, I am back working as a permanent substitute teacher at an elementary school in Larchmont. I am in all grades from K-5 conducting lesson plans and doing small group work.
I love working with children and helping to build their confidence as learners and stay on track with their work. I can work on hw with them, projects, and test prep. I am experienced with working with a variety of learners and able to modify work if need be. I welcome any input from the child’s teachers and parents as it’s important for all to work together as a team to help the child be as successful as they can be.
Thank you!" less...
