"Hello Students,

Currently, I am a state certified English 6-8 teacher. I have taught middle school English for the last nine years and have been at my current school for six of those years. My Liberal Studies degree is from the University of Iowa and I obtained a teaching certificate through Regent University. I've taught in a classroom for most of my time as a teacher. However, I have previous experience tutoring online one to one and during COVID I taught English entirely online. I teach students between the ages of 10 and 13, but would be open to teaching older students.

I like to use a variety of methods and approaches depending on the type of student I am working with. Everyone learns differently, so I like to find out how the student learns first and then tailor my tutoring approach to fit that student's learning needs. I like to use a lot of visual aids and provide plenty of guided practice. I am patient and knowledgeable about my content area. My specialties are tutoring reading and writing.
