"Hi! My name is Kusum. I taught adult ESL for 11 years at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, NC. The majority of my students have been Hispanic and Asian. My language skills include Hindi, Gujarati and basic (self-taught) Spanish.

I am Indian, born and raised in Kuwait. I completed my undergraduate college degree in the U.S. in 1985. Although my degree is Marketing, I followed my heart and personal desires and started teaching. Teaching comes naturally to me. I love teaching ESL because it provides the opportunity to work with people from other countries with minimal or no English speaking skills.
