"I have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Understanding College Algebra as a Freshman did help me develop a passion for Math courses. I constantly visited the University Tutoring Center in order to better understand the fundamentals of Mathematics. I follow the same approach when tutoring students by helping them master the fundamentals associated with their individual math courses. Because most times, that’s where their lack of understanding lies. I look forward to making math learning process exciting and fun for students on this platform.
While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I volunteered to tutor undergraduate students in Finite Math, College Algebra and Trigonometry as part of my community service hours toward my scholarship for 2 years. This was more of a group setting tutoring within the school’s library study room. More importantly, I received an extraordinary work recognition for Finite Math during my undergraduate degree. I also worked as a tutor in the Academic Tutoring Center during my Master's program - carrying out one-on-one tutoring sessions with undergraduate students that needed help in Pre-Calculus, Calculus I and II for 3 years.
Upon consulting with a student, I normally inquire about the areas they are struggling with.
I normally develop lesson plans based on their individual feedback. Firstly, I go over the fundamental concepts for the course, then tackle both lecture note examples and homework examples. Student are normally given enough time to practice solving few math problems on their own as well. As the semester progresses, I start tackling test preparation type questions that are guaranteed to show up in the student’s upcoming midterm or final exams.
The mode of tutoring will be mostly online; yet exceptions can be made for in-person tutoring with my preferred location selection if need be. I encourage students to contact me to learn more about my program and schedule lessons!" less...
