"Hi! My name is Timmarah and I am a Online ASL Tutor. My journey began back in 2013 when I started doing volunteer work for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind. I found so much enjoyment doing such that I began to apply myself and learn the language!

After further dedication and hard work, I graduated with a Sign Language Interpreter Associate in Applied Science degree in April 2019. Ever since, learning ASL I found a true passion in teaching the language after first practicing it for fun with my friends during the pandemic. I loved seeing the faces of new learners who progressively start to love the language and become confident enough to have conversations in ASL. I acquired a EIPA Secondary 4.0 and passed the written EIPA. I also acquired the TEP with the help of useful tools I learned along the way of my sign language interpreter journey.

I have been tutoring for 2 1/2 years with a variety of ages (13-67), backgrounds, and cultures. My goal as your tutor is to help you build your foundation in ASL, use the information you learned to have natural conversations in ASL, and increase your confidence in understanding the structure of ASL to have those natural conversations. I provide tutoring to beginner/new learners and create additional lessons for those who would like to challenge their current knowledge of ASL. Feel more to contact me for any questions you may have!
