"Tutors have helped me immensely through my academic career, and their enthusiasm was as helpful as their lessons. That's why I strive to provide effective, customized lessons to help students prepare and use my own passion for the subject matter to get students excited about what they learn. Earth is a unique and amazing place, and understanding how it works, from mountain building to evolution, is what made me pursue a career in Earth Science.
I hold a bachelor's degree in geoscience from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Ph.D. in geoscience and natural resources from the University of Wyoming. I have taught both undergraduate- and master's-level physical science courses and tutored a variety of students. I now work in natural resources management and climate change adaptation to preserve our rare and valuable ecosystems on the San Francisco Peninsula.
Because I used tutors throughout my early academic career, I fully understand the patience and creativity it takes to effectively teach these complicated yet exciting subjects. And, since I have applied this knowledge to real-world problems affecting California's environment, I can contextualize the material into thoughtful and stimulating lessons.
Please reach out with questions or scheduling requirements. I can be flexible with advanced notice and my top priority is to make lessons fun, informative, and useful for each student's individual strengths. Before our lesson, let me know how YOU best learn!" less...
