"Hi there! I am a certified teacher with have 2 master's degrees (Education and Human Resources). I have taught at the elementary, middle school, high school and community college levels. I adore helping students and watching the light bulb go off once they understand something. I got my bachelor's degree in Geography and love sharing knowledge about different countries and cultures. I studied overseas for a year and know what it feels like to be in a place where your first language isn't what is being spoken in the community surrounding you. This is part of the reason why I became an ESL teacher. I have taught ESL classes at the high school & community college level. In addition, I have taught reading intervention classes and English Language Arts classes at the elementary and high school levels.

I started my teaching career 22 years ago and have taught a diversity of social studies courses (Geography, World History, US History, Government and Economics). I love sharing with students how the content connects to the real world and their lives. Additionally, I have taught test prep courses and know that testing is stressful-especially the STAAR state exam. So, I try to incorporate fun and stories into what I am teaching.

I have tutored and worked with many students who have learning challenges-my son included. So, I know how hard it can be for students that have learning differences. Therefore, I am a firm believer in the importance of parent & teacher involvement. I welcome any resources and communication between the school, teacher or parent that can help support the learner.
