"My love of teaching comes from a passion for the applied sciences. I love seeing the look of understanding on my students' faces when a seemingly incomprehensible topic suddenly makes sense. I have experience tutoring in Chemistry and Algebra through a teaching assistant position at Texas Woman's University.
As I graduated with honors and a double major in Biochemistry and Chemistry, I understand the values of hard work and diligence and have had great success instilling comprehension and application of Chemistry to my students; I have had the immense pleasure of observing students realize their own potentials and overcome obstacles to achieve their goals and improve. I have recently obtained my MS in Chemistry, and I have experience being a Teaching Assistant through the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for Texas Woman's University for multiple years. I have taught laboratory classes and tutored for Introduction to General Chemistry, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Quantitative Chemical Analysis.
I received my B.S.N. and, in the process, have taken and made A's in Biology, Biochemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and Pathophysiology. I use a variety of teaching methods and have had great success explaining biological concepts and applications to my students.
When I took the ACT, I scored a perfect score and am more than capable to help with ACT Prep.
In order to challenge (yet not overwhelm) my students, I assign personalized homework for each student after the session as well as periodical quizzes designed to test comprehension and retention of material. This allows me to assess how the student is progressing.
I am more than willing either to travel for sessions or have sessions online. If you would like to discuss options, I do offer complimentary consultations. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your academic endeavors!" less...
