"I am currently a fourth year medical student at the University of Connecticut (UConn). Prior to this, I attended pharmacy school at UConn when half way through I decided to withdraw and apply to medical school. During pharmacy school I excelled in my academics, being inducted in the Rho Chi honor society (top 10% of the class). Throughout this time I also tutored my peers in my pharmacy class. When studying for the MCAT I focused on active studying utilizing practice problems and frequent practice exams. I was able to achieve a 515 (91st percentile) on the MCAT.

During medical school I passed Step 1 on my first attempt and got >85th percentile on all shelf exams. This allowed me to achieve honors in 7/8 of my clinical rotations. I brought my study habits and test taking skills to Step 2 CK where I achieved a 268. I find the most effective and efficient way to prepare for these exams is active studying through practice problems, supplemented with daily flash cards (Anki). Our tutoring sessions will focus on how to utilize Anki and practice questions in an efficient manner and how to dissect NBME style questions to get them consistently correct." less...
