"Hi! I'm Giancarlo. I graduated cum laude with Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's in Electrical Engineering and Master's in Engineering Management all at NJIT. I'm an Electrical Engineer for a utility and I manage the relay protection of power system grid of NJ. I believe professors and instructors in elementary, high school and college make learning fun. They engage students on STEM topics and real-life situations and make time for anyone who need additional help after school hours. I apply this principle in my tutoring. I explain topics to make the session interactive for learning and professional development. I adjust my teaching depending on student's specific need and topic.

I have experience in elementary math, arithmetic and algebra which I assisted teachers at Newark NJ public schools. While the teacher gave instruction to the students, I assisted in case they have questions. This was the GEAR UP Essex County College (ECC) Newark NJ tutoring program. Later on, I worked at ECC Learning Center as a college Math tutor. In that role, I tutored college level math (Algebra, Prealgebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, etc). I worked with a group of college students (up to 10 at a time). I'm effective in one on one tutoring also and I adjust my style specifically per student. Eventually, I volunteered at NJIT as an undergraduate teaching assistant. I facilitated weekly sessions to assist college students and prepared weekly reports for NJIT college department to assess course material and students' performance.
