I'm a proud graduate of Detroit Public Schools, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, and National Louis University. Prior to teaching, I worked as a corporate computer Systems Analyst, then as a project manager on school performance reporting with our district. During that time, I married a skilled high school teacher and lived vicariously through his adventures in classrooms. As we grew our family, I was drawn away from my computer into schools. I have over five years of teaching experience; three teaching 4th and 5th grade

I am a firm believer in Conscious Discipline and making lessons fun. If a student is not engaged, I consider that to be my problem and not something that they need to fix. I understand that as the leader, it's my job to find a way to teach it that fits each individual student. I'm passionate about the power of kindness, patience and flexibility to motivate students to enjoy learning.
