"Hello! My name is Zoey and I am currently a student at Boston College studying Economics and Spanish. In high school, I was the valedictorian of my class and have earned the IB Diploma. I have scored a 5 in AP Chinese, Statistics, Biology, US History, World History, and Physics I, and a 4 in AP Chemistry and English Language. I have also scored a 7 in IB-SL Business Management, and 6 in IB-HL Calculus Analysis and Approaches, IB-HL English Literature, IB-HL Spanish B, IB-SL Psychology, and IB-SL Environmental Systems and Societies. I have around 5 years of one-on-one tutoring experience working with elementary, middle, and high school students from the US, China, and Japan, both on my own and through school tutoring clubs, which include the Peer Tutoring Club in high school and the Boston College Neighborhood Center Tutoring Program. In these sessions, I have covered a variety of subjects, which include English, ESL, Spanish, writing, math, history, and science.

My primary goals are not only to improve students' grades, but also help them to engage with and understand the content. As a result, I aim to create customized lesson plans that appeal to each of my students' individual needs and interests. For example, I have helped a student develop skills in reading comprehension by allowing him to choose books he wanted to read and creating lesson materials based on other topics he enjoyed, such as food and travel. I have also made custom slideshows for another student who learned better visually than auditorily, using pictures and diagrams in a way that made more sense to her than traditional lecture material.
