"I have worked with students and families in education for over 20 years. I have been a teacher (elementary and middle school), a literacy coach, assistant principal, and principal. I have a B.S. in African American studies and an M.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration and my passion is education and working with children of all ages.

I like to use hands-on activities, question and discussion, and illustrations to help students understand and master concepts. I also incorporate real world problems (math) and scenarios (reading) to help students practically apply skills.

In my time as a teacher, I have had much success with students who may be struggling in certain areas, because I identify their specific weaknesses and target the specific skills that will help strengthen their weaknesses." less...
