"I am a certified elementary (K-6th) and middle school math (including Algebra) teacher with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Master's in Organizational Leadership. I love working with students and believe the primary purpose of education is to give children the foundation required to understand while analyzing data and developing opinions, thoughts, and conclusions. My role as an educator is to facilitate discussion, activities, and build on the foundation through applicable illustrations, examples, case studies, and projects.

I feel that children learn best when they relate to the topic. Teaching concepts through interactive, interesting activities and games is crucial to building mastery of the subject. These engaging activities will not only reinforce the subject, but make learning engaging and fun. Students will connect the material with their own experiences.

My relationship with students will be built on mutual respect. While enforcing expectations, I will also show the students that I not only care about their education, but them as a whole person. I will ask them to share their own experiences, promote question-asking, and build trust through interaction. To build a collaborative relationship with parents, I will share information on what we are covering and invite parents to contact me if they have questions about the lessons or their students’ progress. I also ask parents to be open to both positive feedback and areas of improvement concerning their children.
