"Teaching is my life! I graduated from Emporia State University (KS) with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in elementary education. I taught 2nd grade for seven years, and am currently in my fourth year of teaching 6th grade. During this time, I taught all content areas.
I understand that learning can be a challenge, but I also know that challenges can be overcome. While in elementary school, I needed a tutor to assist me with reading comprehension. I became "lost in the shuffle" at my school, but with one-on-one assistance with my tutor, I was able to not only succeed, but thrive! I took the knowledge I gained from my tutor and applied it to my daily studies at school. My goal is to help students find the same success I found.
How will I help my students be successful? I believe communication is key. Communication with students, parents, and teachers is necessary to gain a true understanding of problems, solutions, and goals for every party involved in the tutoring process. Also, being a certified teacher still in the classroom, I have access to multiple teaching aids to assist my students in every way possible. In addition, tailoring lessons to fit the individual needs of each student is of utmost importance. This is the driving force of tutoring and what sets it apart from daily classroom instruction.
I look forward to hearing from you. Remember, success might just be one lesson away. Let's get the ball rolling!" less...
