"Hello! I’m Camilla. I’m interested in helping high school and college-aged students reach their academic goals and giving them the encouragement they need to excel!

In 2022, I earned my bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Drexel University. I graduated summa cum laude with a 3.90 GPA. In conjunction with my coursework, I gained extensive hands-on experience as a clinical research assistant, patient advocate, EMT, and lab technician. I am currently a research specialist at the University of Pennsylvania and am applying to medical school.

I was not always a stellar student, nor was I always interested in science. Luckily, I had many talented teachers and professors who took the time to simplify complex concepts. Once I began to understand scientific principles, I gained a deep appreciation for the world around me and truly began to love learning! My approach to teaching is breaking down complicated concepts into comprehensible chunks. I also love using everyday analogies to explain things. I follow the principle, “Explain it to me like I’m 5.” I believe science should and can be accessible to all.

At Penn, I discovered my passion for teaching. As a research specialist, I’ve dedicated hours to training and mentoring other researchers and undergraduate students. My degree and work experiences have equipped me with the knowledge necessary to tutor biology, general chemistry, and psychology and with the ability to convey information effectively to students. Additionally, I am empathetic to the internal and external factors that affect learning and success. I am excited to tailor my lessons to meet the needs of each individual.

I hope to strengthen your medical school application as well! I understand how intimidating and confusing the process is. I would love to provide support to students who are going through this. I am prepared to guide you through every step, from signing up and preparing for the MCAT to writing secondary essays.
