"I have been tutoring for many years and have experience working with students from 6th-12th grade both online and in-person. I have worked with students in both long-term and short-term situations, such as over the course of the school year and over a 2 week period in preparation for an assessment, as well as in both 1:1 and group settings. While I may be working with the student to improve their proficiency in a certain subject, I am more focused on fostering an environment of psychological safety. I believe such an environment allows the student to be comfortable with asking questions and admitting vulnerability in the subject. When framing it as such, I, as the "tutor", am not better than you. Rather, I am your avid supporter as you strive for self improvement. I can assist in all levels of math up to (and including) AP Calculus AB. I am certified in SAT Math and SAT Reading and Writing, and can also assist in all ACT subjects. Finally, I can help with AP Environmental Science, AP Psychology, AP World History, and AP Biology, all of which I scored a 5 on the AP Exam. I am a long-time volunteer having started at the age of 12. I started at my local library as I wanted to give back to the place where I first found joy in reading. This has become my reason for volunteering ever since: to help others and give back for all that I have been fortunate enough to have.
