"Hi! I'm thrilled by the prospect of meeting you and helping you along your academic and human journey. I graduated from Emory University with a degree in Chemistry and Philosophy/Religion. I spend my days working full time as a high school chemistry and physics teacher. I began tutoring in college, where I volunteered teaching math and science local high school students. I also served as a learning assistant in Organic Chemistry and a chemistry tutor for multiple years. At Emory, I was awarded the Woodruff Dean’s Achievement Scholarship for outstanding service and scholarship.
As an educator, I value the deep interpersonal relationships, the foundation upon which motivated learning takes place, that I'm able to develop with my students. I especially enjoy making seemingly esoteric content relevant by using relatable metaphors and stories to describe scientific phenomena found in nature. While organic chemistry and mechanical physics are my favorite subjects, I also have a passion for writing and storytelling. I'm so excited to get to know you and help deepen your understanding of the universe through the lenses of science and language." less...
