"Hi, I’m Keila!

I bring 17 years of teaching experience working with students of all levels—elementary, middle, and high school—specializing in English/Language Arts. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education with a minor in Psychology and later obtained a Master’s degree in Special Education. Early in my career, I was trained in an Urban Teaching Academy, which prepared me to effectively support diverse learners and meet the unique needs of students from all backgrounds and abilities.

As a middle school English educator, I understand the skills students need to succeed academically and prepare for college or careers. My five years of curriculum-writing experience enable me to use relevant and engaging materials that inspire learning. I am passionate about tailoring instruction to suit each student’s needs and learning styles, creating individualized learning experiences to help them thrive.

I firmly believe in educating the whole child. Recognizing the challenges students face post-COVID, I ensure lessons foster academic growth as well as social and emotional well-being. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where your scholar feels comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and tackling challenges confidently.

In addition to my classroom experience, I have taught and tutored students both online and in person, adapting to various settings and learning needs. Whether your child is excelling and seeking enrichment or needing additional support, I am patient, flexible, and committed to helping them reach their full potential. My methods focus on creativity, connection, and engagement to make every session enjoyable and productive.
