"Hi! I'm John. I'm a Magna Cum Laude graduate of UNC-Charlotte where I earned a Bachelor of Music with a Concentration in Instrumental Performance: Cello. Upon entering college, I was placed in the highest-level Music Theory class. It was there that I discovered that I could help my friends better understand difficult music theory concepts such as chord resolution and complex sight-singing. I'm able to make Music Theory clear, and I provide lots of encouragement!

In regards to Music History, I received an Outstanding Scholar Award for Music History, and know how to simplify a large volume of information. I am able to explain the significance of a musical era, composer, historical work, plus ways to conduct research.

In regards to cello playing, I teach students grades K-12, as well as college students. I am especially interested in teaching students with special needs, and celebrate neurodiversity! If you chose me to be your instructor, I'll build your endurance with cello, plus demonstrate which techniques will produce the most beautiful sound. I focus on technique because my cello professor does, and she graduated from one of the top conservatories in the United States!
