"Hi everyone! I am a graduate student from USF with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. My major was composed of rigorous math and science classes which helped me appreciate the world more by understanding the smaller details. My high school education I graduated from an IB School with a focus in higher level Biology courses. I was only able to excel in these classes because I had the right foundation at a young age from the right teachers who expressed learning does not have to be difficult if kids are given the right resources It is essential for a student to know the basics for math and science in order for them to develop a liking to it and encourage them to keep trying when subjects become difficult.

I have experience as a summer school teacher teaching elementary math and science for kids who did not receive help during the school year. It was essential for me to create a safe environment for them to feel included and ask questions with concepts they struggled with. Encouraging them to keep trying and practicing good studying habits with them gave them the confidence they need to try harder in their classes without feeling ashamed. Teaching young students is rewarding because they see themselves succeeding in their courses and will be able to do so alone after extra help.
