"I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in December 2020 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with an Electrical Engineering minor, at a 3.9 GPA. I have enjoyed tutoring math and science ever since I started high school; making practice tests and explaining important concepts to students who felt they were falling behind. I continued this work as an Undergraduate TA, and a Math Center tutor in college, helping students to connect class concepts to homework when the professors were not able to follow the material as taught by the professor. During the pandemic, I continued this work as a professional tutor on online platforms, and have since begun a Masters Degree in Engineering.

I studied engineering because of its fascinating connections to math and physics, and I have enjoyed helping other students see these connections when they are not made clear in the classroom. I know from the classmates whom I helped that an attentive and engaged instructor can change not only a student's performance, but also their confidence in the class, and helping students make connections in a subject I enjoy makes me look forward to meeting with my students every time.

I am fortunate that math and physics are some of my personal interests. My favorite subjects to tutor are Calculus 1-3 and calculus-based physics. These classes changed how I viewed math at its core, and its power to describe the world around us, and I enjoy helping students see that possibility in a class they might otherwise find abstract or irrelevant.

I also study math somewhat recreationally, and I have developed a familiarity with many math subjects beyond just what students are taught by their teachers. This helps me give deeper answers to questions that students have about math concepts and structures beyond "that's just what I was taught."

Thank you for your interest. I have a flexible schedule, so feel free to reach out about meeting times, frequency, or what specific needs you are looking for in a tutor." less...
