"I began tutoring in 2009 and have not stopped since. Although I graduated in 2014, I began my study of Latin in 2004. I bring both spunk and vast experience (twenty years worth!) to my Latin lessons. To my humanities lessons, I bring fifteen years of tutoring experience and ten years of classroom experience. I incorporate original sources, subject integration, Socratic discussion, and the Classical stages of learning (i.e. Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric). These are the elements that made academic study vibrant and joyful for me; I covet the privilege of sharing my wonder of the humanities and the Classical world with you!

While the Classical stages of learning tend to correlate with the stages of physical age development, I believe that all lessons should progress to the beat of these learning stages. In my lessons, I teach students terms and help them in memorization (Grammar stage). Then, we examine how the pieces and terms work together (Logic stage). Finally, I facilitate their application and exploration of the topic themselves (Rhetoric stage).

After being classically educated myself, I went on to study Classics, Ancient History, and Great Texts through Baylor University's University Scholar honors program. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2014. Since earning my B.A.,I have taught at various classical schools in the central Texas area. I have taught Latin Grammar to students ranging from 3rd to 11th grades, including Pre-AP and AP courses. I have attended the College Board seminar for AP Latin teachers which certified me to teach AP Latin. Several of my students have earned fours or fives on the AP Exam. I have also taught other teachers how to teach Latin.

In addition to Latin, I have also taught Classical Speech and New Testament Greek with the Heart of Texas One Day Academy; and Classical Greek Grammar and Literature at Grace Academy’s upper school.
