"Hello!
I am a PhD student at Syracuse University, studying Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree (also from SU) in May of 2024. I majored in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Energy Systems.
I have nearly 6 years of experience tutoring upper-level STEM subjects one-on-one. During my undergrad at Syracuse University, I led calculus and engineering workshops for small groups of students (Academic Excellence Workshops) and worked as a junior teaching assistant (physics coach) for the SU physics department—a role I continue in grad school. This position is mostly based in classroom instruction, but I also work in the 'Physics Clinic', where we offer drop-in office hours. I was named Undergraduate Coach of the Year in 2022 and received a Lifetime Achievement in Physics Coaching award in 2024.
I also run a YouTube channel where I break down topics and work through problems in physics, astronomy, and materials science.
Also, as a graduate teaching assistant in the Mechanical Engineering department, I support courses covering data analysis, statistics, and CAD (computer-aided design).
My number one goal is to help students understand the overarching concepts of a subject and how those concepts inform problem-solving. I strive to make learning feel more like a conversation, rather than a lecture, encouraging curiosity and guiding students towards discovering the solution on their own. I also work to adapt my approach to suit each student's unique learning style.
I aim to model excitement and kindness in the classroom to maintain a positive and welcoming learning environment for all students.
I check my email and messages frequently, so I will always provide a quick response. Please reach out if you have any questions for me, or if you want to set up a session!" less...
