"Hi! My name is Surya and I'm a second-year student at Northeastern University. I'm currently studying computer engineering with a minor in biomedical engineering. I feel that my academic background and experiences more than adequately prepare me for a position as a tutor at Wyzant. I have a strong grounding in STEM-based topics and I often enjoy helping my peers in subjects I seem to excel at as well as receiving help from those around me when I am in need. For this reason, the tutoring field is extremely appealing to me.

If I could choose a specialty as a tutor, it would be ACT prep. In my junior year, I fully dove into my preparation for all sections of the ACT and was rewarded with a score of 35. I would really enjoy the opportunity to pass down all the knowledge and strategies I gained from my studies. In addition to ACT prep, I feel I would be a quality candidate for a mathematics tutor at elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Math has always been my strongest subject and I could be a great resource for youth looking for help in topics such as calculus and algebra.

While I do not have previous teaching experience, my current status as a college student as well as the relative recency of my high school experience would make me a relatable and approachable figure for students.
