"For over 20 years, I have taught middle schoolers in English, creative writing, and public speaking. I love teaching grammar in the context of real writing. I also love teaching about creative writing through using all five senses. For example I have had my students write about music, sports clips, dark chocolate, famous paintings, etc. I love tutoring because I can quickly get students to realize their potential in writing as we go back-and-forth on drafts.

I have worked for 20 years with students in the classroom setting and one on one to maximize their talents as they grapple with real works writing, not workbooks . I like teaching grammatical concepts and vocabulary in the context of published fiction and poetry , often focusing on famous authors. I have spent a lot of time working with students to sharpen their writing using the five senses. Regarding public speaking — I love analyzing famous speeches and allowing the kids to model the structure of great talks.
