"I have been a teacher for the past 11 years. I have taught in the U.S., Nicaragua, and Laos. I have taught courses in English Language Development for newcomer students, English 9, 10, and 12 courses, Pre-Algebra, and AVID 9 and 10 courses.

I love tutoring and working with young people. I believe teaching and tutoring are about the relationship you build with students - not just the content. I feel strongly that tutoring and teaching are also about what you personally want to get out of it; everyone comes to learning with their own goals, and I want to respect and honors those goals!

I also believe learning should be as authentic as possible. For English education, I try to make the learning as relevant for students as possible.

As an AVID teacher, I have experience supporting 9th and 10th graders with their homework (Algebra, Biology, English 9 & 10, World History). I also am versed in AVID tutoring skills that promote collaboration when learning.

I have a B.A. in Secondary English Education. I am also a tutor Montgomery County Community College at their Writing Center.

I studied Spanish in Nicaragua as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I also teach English Language Development courses to predominantly Spanish-speaking students.
