"Nice to meet you, I'm Jessica. I have experience tutoring children that I have babysat for, mostly in English. I love guiding children through their schoolwork and encourage improvement through positive reinforcement. In my free time I write short stories; I love creating whole new worlds with just the typing at a keyboard or a flick of the pen.

I have experience working in a preschool setting as I used to be a student at tstBOCES and attended the Early Childhood and Development program. I have watched and recorded the developmental process of an individual child and assisted them with writing and encouraged reading aloud. I am used to the different techniques used when teaching children of multiple ages and have no issue whether they be three years old or ten.

English has never been a difficult subject for me; I have always seemingly breezed by it while in class. I am familiar with New York State's guidelines when it comes to writing essays. I unfortunately have no professional education when it comes to English fluency or teaching, but I feel confident in my tutoring abilities.

I love showing children the sheer joy that literacy can provide. All of this is thanks to a teacher I once had in the fourth grade. Before I met her, English was just a subject in school to pass. I wrote assignments just to get a good grade with little to no enthusiasm in what it was that I was writing, my grades started to slip as a result. That all changed after we moved nearly across the country from Pennsylvania to Florida and she became my newest teacher. With her guiding me I learned to love the English language and wish to somehow make a difference in a child's life the same way that she did to me.
