"Hello! My name is Jen, and I'm originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. I've always loved books and languages, and I followed that love all the way to graduate school at the University of North Carolina, where I am currently finishing my PhD in Linguistics. Over the past ten years, I have taught several language-centered courses at the University of North Carolina, including Rhetoric and Composition, Writing in the Social Sciences, Graduate Level Writing, Introductory Linguistics, and Sociolinguistics.

I believe that there is power in language, and as your instructor, I will teach you to wield that power efficiently and effectively. Whether you're looking to learn more about linguistics, improve your English language skills, or expand your writing portfolio to new genres, I look forward to working with you to reach your goals.
