"Patricia's Language Toolkit
For the last 4 years, I have been teaching as an adjunct English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor at St. Petersburg Community College (SPC) in Clearwater, Florida. For the most part, I have taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) levels 1-3 classes, but from time to time I have substituted in levels 4-5. I have helped students with English pronunciation by using an assessment to check the student's language needs and to follow-up with lesson plans for practice and further assessment.
During my free time, I enjoy watching British programs (especially mystery shows), learning about and traveling to to other countries, and even visiting local Florida tourist areas. I enjoy our West coast beaches, having cookouts and going on picnics. I really enjoy spending time with all of my grandchildren. Also, whether I'm at home, driving in my Jeep, or sitting in Starbucks, I appreciate great music:! My favorites music genres are pop, jazz, contemporary Christian, classical, country, and easy listening.
It would be a joy to work with you (or your child, or other relative), and to assist you as you learn more about English, or TOEFL and ACT testing.
I tutor during certain hours of the day at a Barnes 'n Noble bookstore, Starbucks, or a local library In the Tampa Bay area. These locations should be a pleasant atmosphere and an opportuniity for excellent learning experiences for the learner.
I look forward to working with you as your tutor!
