When I work with students, I tend to focus on data and assessments because this information provides me with clues about skills, current status, and overall knowledge about a student. It makes me smile to see children learning and I have that feeling of accomplishment. My Reading lessons consist of reading, word study and writing, and other elements depending on the child's needs. When I see errors, I understand what a child needs to work on. I like to see how children apply their knowledge because this allows me to monitor our progress. Teaching is like solving a puzzle. I use a variety of materials during my lessons, and I provide those materials. for you.

When I work with your child, I focus on specific needs, provide scaffolding and then gradually reduce support to promote independence. I choose texts at their instructional reading level, not at the independent reading level. The texts I choose not too hard and not too easy because as students practice they need to be able to problem-solve and practice strategies.

I have been working with English-language learners for about 3 years, and find teaching rewarding.

I have been living in Russia till I moved to the U.S. at the age of 21. I would love to teach the Russian language; it is a beautiful language with a very different structure. I obtained my master's degree in Linguistics in Russia.
