"I've been a teacher and administrator for nearly 25 years now and have loved every minute. From teaching sixth graders the inner beauty of grammar and writing (seriously!) to teaching my AP Students how to make their analyses sing, this is the most rewarding profession bar-none.
I’ve also directed over 40 shows at the high school level and have had students become professional actors at the highest levels. I can help with audition prep, can help breakdown a script, or can help with any number of acting exercises or needs.
My love for English Literature and writing goes all the way back to "that teacher" we all have along the way. He inspired me to look for the how's and why's and to write about them. That momentum continued through college as I learned to love everything from Shakespeare to Shelley to Seuss. My horizons were then broadened further at Hopkins as I explored many disciplines through a liberal arts perspective, earning a Masters in Liberal Arts.
I hope to inspire the students I work with to have the same feeling and to learn about themselves and the world around them when studying literature and theater.
English is a broad, all-encompassing term. Literature and written response to it is my specialty, but I've taught writing from grades 6-12 and tutored at all levels as well. Not sure if I can help? Can't hurt to ask? Just get in touch!" less...
