"Why tutor?
I am an Adjunct Professor of English and professional tutor with a passion for teaching literature, composition, reading, and providing coaching for college writing assignments. Assisting students with college applications is also my specialty. I have many different approaches for all types of learners--auditory, visual, and tactile--to achieve success, including differentiated instruction for students with learning disabilities. Regardless of the individual's needs, I continually provide each client with formative feedback and tools to be successful in the high school or college classroom, with college admissions, on standardized tests, or in the workplace. This success translates to confidence and, eventually, one's own empowerment.
I have over 14 years of experience teaching American, British, world, and Advance Placement Literature with a concentration on writing research papers, memoirs, essays, and literary analyses with an emphasis on organization, grammar, and the development and support of thesis statements. I have a successful teaching style and want to continue to share my methods with students who want to succeed.
Why select me as your tutor?
I can coach you to be successful on any standardized test through practice, knowing what to expect, simplified grammar rules, and brain activity exercises.
One of my unique specializations is coaching high school seniors how to write college application essays "that work!"
As a former high school and NCAA Division I athlete, I can empathize with the demands and schedules of student-athletes. My students scored a 21% higher pass rate on the AP Literature and Composition Exam than the global passing average. Why is this? This is because I am able to implement a differential way of teaching for all kinds of learners and t" less...
