"Hi! I'm Stacy! I have been rated highly effective in the area of middle school and high school English for the last 20 years. I have tutored for many years, both independently and within my NJ school district and have enjoyed watching struggling students succeed. I love to have fun, laughs and help students learn to appreciate and enjoy reading and writing. My specific expertise is working with students with disabilities or performing below grade level expectations. I have been teaching ELA to high school students in both the resource and in class support settings for the last 16 years. Previous to that I taught a variety of subjects in NYC to 9th grade students. In addition to ELA, I am highly qualified in the areas of middle school Math and Science. I also teach a stand alone course on Study Skills to students who struggle with organization, test taking, time management or executive functioning skills. I am a mother of two - a 5th and 8th grader - so I am current in those areas of education as well. I was recently enrolled at the Harvard Graduate School of Education for continuing education coursework. I earned a BA in Communications from Loyola University and have a Masters in Education/Students with Disabilities from Pace University.
