Tutoring Philosophy:
I want to meet you where you are as a writer. You are the expert on your opinions, ideas, and content area. I’m here to help you learn how to organize, communicate, support, justify, and reassess your own views and perspectives. In our sessions, I’ll emphasize writing as a reflective practice, to help you take control of your own progress as a writer. We will always focus on the audience for whom you are writing, and the purpose or the task ahead of us, since context is critical for effective written communication.
Services:
– Virtual or in-person tutoring for high school and college students (neurodiverse students welcome).
– Coaching on writing skills, and consultation on specific written assignments/tasks.
– Paper review and written feedback via digital documents.
– Assessment of persistent patterns (both strong and weak) in clients’ writing, and remediation of recurrent issues, as needed.
– Guidance on research and documentation (citation, quotation, paraphrasing, etc.).

My literature courses included U.S. Literature (Post-1865), Global Literature and Social Change; LGBT Literature, Literature of Science and Technology, and Literatures of the Americas.
