My approach to teaching is all in service of achieving that "light bulb" moment of understanding. To this end, I engage students with creative analogies and real-life examples to explain concepts in ways that will make sense to them. I also emphasize the importance of practice, which is crucial for achieving mastery over a subject.

In high school I tutored middle schoolers in Hebrew, and in college I tutored writing and logic - in both one-on-one and small group settings. I have also taught sailing to groups of adults at a sailing center, making sure to offer individual help to any students who struggled with the content. These varied teaching experiences equip me to tutor students from a range of life backgrounds, tailoring my teaching approach based on the student. In all these cases I've greatly enjoyed empowering students by helping them learn their course material and offering them the tools to learn independently in the future.

I received my BA in philosophy and political science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. After college I taught myself to code and got a job as a software engineer for a large health insurance company. I've also done freelance work in software development and data analysis. I have received excellent scores (above the 99th percentile) on standardized tests including the ACT, SAT, and LSAT, especially on sections related to reading, English, and logic.
