"Hello! You can call me Julian. Last year, I graduated from Ohio State with a B.A. in Linguistics; I am proud to say that I was the first to graduate with a 4.0 in my department. Ever since, I have been working in education. I've been a substitute teacher, a volunteer ESL teacher, an intern for a summer program, and now tutor full-time.
For most of my work, I have taught language in one way or another. While being a substitute teacher, I taught English and Language Arts classes, and for the summer program, I held creative writing workshops. Aside from this, I've also done some volunteer work, such as holding writing workshops for juvenile inmates.
I have knowledge and experience in a variety of subjects; besides linguistics, I also focused on Jewish studies, philosophy, and cultural studies. For cultural studies and philosophy, I have published articles in these topics, using philosophy concepts to analyze pop culture. I have also given lectures to college clubs before on a wide range of topics, spanning from the Sabbateans to the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. For Jewish studies, I have translated portions of the Bible from the original Hebrew, and I have also translated Aramaic incantation bowls.
Outside of academia, I am very passionate about music. During my entire time at college, I was also making hip-hop music and performing in my city. I've raised money for charity shows, held volunteer workshops, and most recently, I was teaching kids how to rap at Freedom Schools.
