"Thanks for clicking on my profile! My name is DT, and along with being an English tutor and a grammar expert, I am a published writer with a Master of Fine Arts Degree! I have been a tutor for nine years, since I was a junior in college, and currently teach English as a foreign language in Spain. I have taught people from seventh graders through postgraduate students, and would love to offer my expertise to you virtually!

While we English teachers have a reputation for sticking to outdated rules and complicated grammar structures, I have known the language long enough and studied it so intensely that I am confident about when the rules are okay to be broken - and when they aren't! Sure, I can teach rhetorical arguments, phrasal verbs, and active voice, but I am also more than happy to adjust my style and expectations for my students' paces, and go as slow or fast as they need me to. Most importantly, I make sure to use plenty of examples, keeping my students entertained while they are learning!

After tutoring throughout my educational career, I spent much of my time after graduation working for an online-only platform while simultaneously giving private lessons to adult ESL learners through a local nonprofit. I love working with enthusiastic English learners, from high schoolers prepping for their SATs to those looking to sharpen their college essay skills to aspiring grant writers, and when not working can usually be found writing anyway!
